This world-class Cg (graphite) property covering 5,500 acres is 100% owned by Quinto. It is located in the Cote-Nord region of northeastern Quebec extending south from the southwestern shore of Reservoir Manicouagan. Lac Gueret's surface mining property is in an excellent location within close proximity to existing infrastructure including hydro, roads, rail and deep sea ports.
Quinto optioned Lac Gueret from Exploration Esbec in 2001. Following a successful exploration program in 2003 the project was joint-ventured with SOQUEM, the mining arm of the Quebec Government. Quinto acquired SOQUEM's 50% interest in 2005, with repayment over a four-year period.
Quinto has expended approximately $3 million in exploration at Lac Gueret. This work has produced assays in excess of 15% Cg and up to 40% Cg. The average grade of existing mines worldwide does not exceed 10%. Quinto is presently awaiting an NI 43-101 report and resource calculation from AMEC Engineering. The report is based on the 2006 summer program. Metallurgy testing is underway as well as a preliminary marketing program. A feasibility study to be completed by summer 2008 is the current focus of the project.
